Windows 10 update is messing with the taskbar – but there’s an easy fix

Windows 10 recently received a new preview update, and it’s reportedly causing trouble with the taskbar for some users. Patch KB5003214 is a preview of June’s cumulative update, but as well as the known issues listed by Microsoft, there’s a problem with icons on the taskbar going awry, as flagged up by Windows Latest . This patch is for May 2021 Update, October 2020 Update and May 2020 Update versions of Windows 10 (which are all essentially the same version, just with minor changes in the newer ones). KB5003214 began rolling out earlier this week with some bug fixes, and the update also made the ‘News and interests’ feature on the taskbar available to everybody. Xiaomi Mi 12 might charge far faster than any other phone

Many flagship phones already charge very fast, but it looks like the Xiaomi Mi 12 – or some other upcoming Xiaomi phone – might take these speeds to a whole new level. That’s because the brand shared a video on Twitter showing a new charging tech called Xiaomi HyperCharge, which offers 200W wired charging and 120W wireless charging. On the wired front, according to Xiaomi that’s enough to get a 4,000mAh battery charged from zero to 100% in just eight minutes. It can apparently get to 10% in 44 seconds, and 50% in three minutes. If you go wireless then you can supposedly get a 10% charge in one minute, a 50% charge in seven minutes, and a 100% charge in 15 minutes. That’s incredibly fast, and means you’d never really be waiting around for your phone to charge again. Phones launched in May 2021 in India

Image
The month of May in India was a silent one when it comes to product launches in general. We had only a handful of phone launches in India due to lockdown and the Covid-19 pandemic.  In May 2021, India witnessed just six smartphone launches as compared to 22 launches from April 2021 . Mi India launched a new addition to the Redmi Note 10 series while Infinix launched one of the cheapest phones with a 90Hz screen refresh rate display.  Further, Tecno and Lava added their own budget smartphones in India. Itel on the other hand launched what we can call one of the cheapest smartphone available in India right now. Lastly, the show stopper for the month of May was Realme's affordable flagship phone, the Realme X7 Max.  In the coming month, we are expecting around 15 to 20 smartphone launches including the OnePlus Nord CE , Realme GT , iQ00 Z3 , Mi 11 Lite , and much more. You can take a look at all the upcoming launched here .  Realme X7 Max Image 1 of 4 (I...

Confusion in Indian OTT platform space: Two self-regulatory bodies on the anvil

It is the best of times. It is the worst of times. For the Indian OTT platforms , that is. Thanks to the pandemic and the subsequent shut down of cinema halls, the streaming platforms have seen enormous spike in the number of followers. Meanwhile, the OTT platforms as an industry have been mandated to form a self-regulatory body under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.  And this is where a major schism has developed in the industry, with it split as broadcaster-owned OTT platforms owing allegiance to the Indian Broadcasting and Digital Foundation (IBDF) on one side, and the standalone OTT platforms, under the aegis of the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) on the other.
